About Us

The Star pub is a very attractive and quaint canal side venue with five different levels, and mentioned in The Guinness Book of records for this. The pub is situated on the main lock adjacent to the centre of the historic town of Stone. Our pub has recently beer refurbished and is full of character with real fires, oak beams and benches on the canal side and we also have a seated patio area, conservatory, lounge, bar and snug. The Star now boasts 6 excellent cask ales and quality pub food - the chef’s specials are a must. Pub food is served 7 days a week, Monday to Saturday 12 to 10 p.m. Sunday 12 to 9 p.m.

    BBQ chicken wings served with a spicy Piri Piri sauce and cool sour cream and chive dip.
  • Goat’s Cheese and Caramelised Onion Bruschetta (v)

    Toasted ciabatta bread, drizzled with oil and topped with melted goat’s cheese and caramelised onions.

  • Chicken BBQ Melt

    A butterfly chicken breast, grilled and chopped with bacon, BBQ sauce and melted cheddar cheese. Served with chips and a side salad.
  • Pedigree Beer Battered Fish & Chips

    Battered in-house with our famous Pedigree beer batter. Served with chips and your choice of mushy or garden peas and tartare sauce.
  • Wexford Cheddar & Chutney Tart (v)

    A shortcrust pastry base filled with Wexford Cheddar cheese sauce, cherry tomatoes and chutney. Served with new potatoes and side salad.

  • Chocolate Melt in the Middle

    For all the chocolate lovers out there? An individual chocolate cake with a melting chocolate heart.
  • Bramley Apple Pie

    Slices of Bramley apples in a sweet shortcrust pastry, dusted with sugar. Served with a choice of custard, cream or ice cream.
